How Shopify stores find wholesale and bulk buyers
Bulk orders are the fastest way for a small store to grow. One wedding, office or event order can be worth more than a month of single sales. The good news: people ask for these orders in public every day.
Where bulk buyers ask for help
Most people looking for a supplier don't search Google first. They ask other people. That happens in a few predictable places:
- Reddit. r/smallbusiness, r/weddingplanning, r/Entrepreneur, and niche subreddits for your product, like r/candlemaking or r/streetwear.
- Facebook groups. Local business groups, wedding planning groups and office manager groups.
- Quora and forums. Event planning, school PTA and hobby forums.
What a good bulk lead looks like
A good lead has three things: a clear product, a quantity, and a deadline. For example:
"Looking for someone who can make around 120 small candles with custom labels as wedding favors. Wedding is in May."
That person knows what they want, how many, and when. If you can make it, you're already halfway to a sale.
How to search for them yourself
- Search Google with the platform and buyer phrases, for example reddit "looking for" custom tote bags bulk or "need" 200 "custom" mugs for our.
- Filter to the last few weeks. Old posts are usually already solved.
- Skip posts from other sellers and people asking how to make things themselves.
- Save the ones that match what you can actually deliver on time.
How to reply so they buy
Answer their question first, then mention what you can do. Keep it short and human:
"Hi! We make custom-label soy candles and 120 for May is very doable. Around $4 each with your names and date on the label. Want me to send a photo of a sample?"
- Use their details (quantity, date, style) so it's clear you read the post.
- Give one concrete fact: price range, minimum order or turnaround.
- End with an easy question, not a hard sell.
- Follow each community's rules. Many allow helpful replies from sellers but ban spam.
Doing this every day without spending hours
Searching takes time, and the best leads go to whoever replies first. That's why we built Lead Harbour. It searches recent public posts, picks the 5 people most likely to order from your store, explains why each one fits, and writes a reply you can edit and send from your own account.
Let Lead Harbour do the searching
Paste your store link and see 5 people asking for what you sell, each with a reply ready to send. Ready in about 2 minutes.
