How to find customers for your skincare or beauty store

Skincare buyers search for help constantly: a moisturiser that is not greasy, a sunscreen with no white cast, a fragrance-free option for sensitive skin. Small brands win these posts when they answer precisely.

This page shows where skincare and beauty buyers ask, the words they use, when demand peaks, and how to reply so it does not feel like an ad.

Where skincare and beauty buyers ask

WhereWhat people ask for
r/SkincareAddictionRoutine help and product requests by skin type
r/AsianBeauty and r/30PlusSkinCareSpecific product and ingredient questions
r/MakeupAddictionShade matching and product recommendations
Facebook groups for natural skincareRequests for gentle, natural or handmade products

Read each community's rules before you reply. Most allow helpful answers from sellers but remove plain links and copy-paste ads.

What a buyer's post looks like

These are typical of the posts you are looking for. Each one names a need, and often a budget or a deadline:

Typical post

"Looking for a hydrating but non-sticky body lotion for winter."

Typical post

"Any fragrance-free moisturiser that doesn't break out sensitive skin?"

Typical post

"Need a mineral sunscreen that doesn't leave a white cast on darker skin."

Search phrases that find them

Paste these into Google, then sort or filter by the past week so you only see posts that are still open:

On Reddit itself, search your product word plus "recommend" or "looking for" and sort by New. Our guide on finding buying-intent posts has more phrases.

When demand peaks

Winter (dry skin), early summer (sunscreen), and gift season for sets.

How to reply

  1. Answer the question first. Give a real recommendation, even if it is general advice.
  2. Say you make or sell it. Being open about it builds trust, and most communities expect it.
  3. Add a detail that helps them decide: a price, a size, how long delivery takes.
  4. Reply from your own account, and only to posts that are recent and still open.

Example reply

"Hi! For hydrating without the sticky feel, look for a lotion with glycerin and squalane rather than heavy butters. Ours is fragrance-free and absorbs in about a minute. Happy to share the full ingredient list."

Skip the searching

Doing this by hand takes an hour or more a day. Lead Harbour does it for you: paste your skincare or beauty store link and it finds recent public posts from people asking for what you sell, checks each one is a real buyer, and writes a reply like the one above. You send it yourself from your own account.

Talk to other store owners

Our Discord server is where store owners share what works: which posts convert, how they word replies, and what to avoid. Free to join, and you can ask us anything there.

Common questions

Can a small skincare brand find customers on Reddit?

Yes, but skincare communities are strict. Answer with ingredients and reasons, say you make the product, and never make medical claims.

What skincare posts are the best leads?

Posts that name a skin type and a problem, such as dry skin in winter or a sunscreen without white cast. They are specific enough that your product either fits or it does not.

How does Lead Harbour find skincare and beauty buyers?

Paste your store link and Lead Harbour reads what you sell, then searches public posts on Reddit, Facebook, Quora and forums for people asking for it. Sellers, ads and old posts are filtered out, and each lead comes with a reply you send yourself. Your first 5 buyers cost $1.
